Tree Care in Twin Lakes
Twin Lakes is built around water. Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth anchor the village, and a lot of the property here is lakefront or close to it, with mature shade trees that have grown tall and full on open shoreline lots. Those trees are exposed. Wind coming off open water hits them harder than it would in a sheltered subdivision, and the heavy clay soils that run through Kenosha County drain slowly and hold moisture around the roots. Combine soggy clay with a high water table near the lakes and you get shallow-rooted trees that are more likely to lean or come down in a strong summer storm.
The disease and pest pressure here runs on three fronts. Emerald ash borer is confirmed statewide and has put nearly every ash tree in the village at risk. Oak wilt is widespread across southern Wisconsin, and because it spreads fastest when oaks are pruned or wounded from April through July, timing oak work correctly is one of the most important things you can do to protect them. Spongy moth is also active in the wooded areas around Twin Lakes, and repeated defoliation can weaken oaks and other hardwoods enough to leave them vulnerable to other problems.
Our crews handle removals, pruning, storm cleanup, planting, and mulching throughout Twin Lakes and the surrounding Kenosha County lake communities. We bring rigging suited to tight lakefront lots and trees close to homes, decks, and shoreline structures. If you’ve got a storm-exposed tree near the house, an ash you’re deciding whether to treat or remove, or an oak that isn’t looking right, we’re glad to take a look.
